"'Spit-Spot' Manners & Etiquette"
Presented for Young Ladies & Young Gentlemen
(Ages 7 – 12)
Hosted by “Miss Donna”

· First Meeting
Introductions: Our bodies convey so many messages about us! Positive body language is a way we can convey on the OUTSIDE –the way we present ourselves – the respect we have for ourselves on the INSIDE! Introductions are important “first impressions!”
Shaking Hands: Handshakes – especially to an adult – is a nice,
polite gesture. Imagine “mitten hands” (four fingers together, thumb
extended). Two firm “up-and down” handshakes, then release and relax.
Eye Contact: In our culture, we look directly into the eyes of the
person with whom we are speaking. This is especially true when
extending or receiving a hand shake.
*Practice making introductions and shaking hands. Young ladies may also like to practice doing a “curtsy, “and young gentlemen may like to practice bowing to a young lady, as if asking her to dance!“

Thank you notes – A memorable way to show appreciation. Even
Children can complete a picture for friends and family which
lets them know how much their kindness is appreciated. A
hand-written note, or even a post card, is a thoughtful way to
say “thank-you” and keep in touch.
Activity – Writing a thank-you note.
“Story Time Activity” with “Miss Donna!”
"Thank You" favor for each child to take home, to show my appreciation!
